Did a load of laundry. As I was transferring the clothes from the washer to dryer, I notice a ball about the size of a large football in the middle of the clothes.

My initial thought was that it was a towel that had gotten entangled in itself ! So I separated the object and then looked at it in awe !

It was a closed, soiled DIAPER !!!

If you want to do the experiment for yourself, you are welcome to.. Lets just say that a photo blog would have been very inappropriate here!

Although initial suspicions are on Jr. she claims it is not her! It is very close to the baby's bathtub ? could it be her ? was it the absent minded mom or dad ? the plot thickens..

But really, did you know that a closed diaper can swell like a regulation size soccer ball when put in the washer ?

Now you know!!

ps. you know how sometimes when you are eating nuts, you throw the nut in the trash and by mistake eat the skin ! We must have trashed baby's clothes in the garbage and put the diaper in the washer by mistake.. at least that is the current theory...

Busy weekend..

My grad school buddy Angela visited us over the weekend..

Wanted to spend time with the kids and wish them for their birthday..

She was a riot then and she is a riot now !!

"Surprise !!!" daddy ...

Baby just topped her own previous surprise for daddy, with yet another stunner...

We were sitting at an Indian restaurant. While we were eating, she tried to grab our food. To keep her quiet, my wife gave her an empty cup and a spoon.

After a while, I noticed that she was actually eating something. I was thinking my wife must have given her a morsel of roti or sabji to chew on. Meanwhile my wife is thinking the same thing..

Just to be on the safe side, I asked my wife "what did you give her ?"
Wife : "nothing. I thought you gave something. Maybe she is just rolling her tongue and acting as though she is eating ?"

That was enough to set the alarm bells ringing for me. I promptly put my finger in her mouth and pulled out some white spongy stuff!!

She was actually eating the styrofoam cup! We didnt realize that she could bite the empty cup and eat it!!

From now on we will go for metal or plastic cups only. Add this to the list of things a baby can do to an unsuspecting parent!

Face Recognition..

Went to Visithra's Blog and saw that she had tried the face recgonition software..

I thought I would try it too and took my profile photo from the Tamizh blog and submitted it.. It was fun. It somehow crops the face, recognizes the features and compares it to celebrity features and says % match ?!

Unfortuntely, (and unlike Visithra), the celebrities that match me are either not so famous or I need to get out in this world more !! Here are the results..

Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag

What is happening to sundar and what is going on with the title ?

Who are Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag ?

Well, they are the two protagonists in the latest movie I happened to watch. It is a film by Nagesh Kukunoor called "DOR" (which means "thread"). My mother-in-law called us from India and said "ask sundar to watch it, he will like it".. and sure as hell, I loved the movie.

There are only 10 people in the cast with 3 main characters. Riveting.. absolutely riveting.

I will leave the reviewing to the pros.

But this is one different film. I had never heard of either Ayesha Takia and Gul Panag before watching this film, but now I cannot forget them (or forget their protrayal of Meera or Zeenat).

Go watch it if you get a chance..
