Pricechart.com ?!

Ever search for a product on the used market? Surf for hours on amazon, ebay or Craigslist for something you want?

Keep watching that price move up and down by 10-15$ a day over weeks.. then see a sudden 100$ drop and the thing keeps going..

and someday when the "price is right" and your extended budget meets the price, the order button is clicked?

Would it not be nice to have a graph of the products price from the time it was introduced into the market to the day of the search show up? just like stock prices?

That way you could do an extrapolation and take your chances?

If facebook can map out all friend routings and come up with a world map, or if google can know anything and everything about me, this should not be that difficult to do, right?

This should be real good for anyone buying a car of a certain model and make and year where they get an average selling price drop over time.. granted there will be a spread on the data based on mileage. still you should be able to see the data.

Same thing for a camera or lens or any other gizmo that has a lifespan of a few years!

Looks like Pricechart.com is not taken yet.. since I am not ready to quit my day job and take this up, feel free to if you have the time and think it is a worthy idea...

You have one potential user for the site!

If you already know a site that does that do point me towards it.

Santa chronicles

Last year the little one had found out that Santa is not real. Somehow she has forgotten that realization this year.

Today she came to me and said "Daddy, I know Santa puts our gifts under periamma's tree but will he still come into our house through the chimney and check our Christmas lights? What if he comes and is not happy because we don't put milk and cookies for him?"

Me : !!! I don't know. Maybe he will come to our house

LO : He comes to every house anyways right? even if we are good or bad girls?

Me : go to sleep. Santa will bring you gifts. Just don't worry about it.

On the other hand, Jr. is growing up a little too soon, and when this is happening with her mom as a role model.. that means trouble for Daddy.

Jr.: Daddy can you do this for me?

Me : Iru, idho varen (wait, I will come now)

Jr.: I know what that means. You will take an H O U R to come. I am going to go ask Amma!

Me : NO that is not true. I am almost done here. Just give me a minute.

Jr.: You are on your laptop! Every time you are on your laptop and say "a minute" it means a hundred minutes. You won't come. I know you..

LO : Yeah Appa. you take a hundred million thousand minutes!

Me : (shut down laptop) Okay, tell me what you want?

Jr.: See, you did that just to prove me wrong. If I didn't say what I did, you would have kept working.

Me : Ennadi aniyaayam (this is not fair). I don't come to help, it is a problem. If I come to help, I am doing it to prove a point?

Have a lot of work ahead to change the little girls perception!

Lessons learned and learning..

The sun was setting and the skies turned red. The green leaves looked greener.. the red ones looked a flaming red and the gold leaves, well they looked amazing!

Took a shot of the 50+ foot Crystal Amber tree in the backyard and was extremely happy with the results.

Then the thought of placing a kid in the foreground and how it would be great entered my head. My ever willing model aka Jr. said she would step out and pose for one photo and one photo only.

We took one photo and she went "Daddy, I cannot see anything anymore!". For a second I got really worried. Luckily, her temporary blindness faded and she is fine and can see everything.

Just out of curiosity, took a shot without Jr. in the frame with the flash. This thing is very very powerful! The apple tree is a good 40 feet away and it got lit up with the flash. Poor Jr. , no wonder she had a temporary blinding effect.

Should have bounced the flash off my back! There is a lot more to learn on what not to do as well as what to do with this new equipment!
