Someone has made it big?

It looks like our wedding Videographer has finally made it big in the movie industry!

Watched the latest Ajith movie yesterday and it did not impress me. Yes, it is impressive that Ajith (who is a mainstream hero with probably 3 hits out of 50 films that you can name off the top of your head) decided to play an anti hero role in his 50th movie! That still doesn't make the movie good or different.

There are lot many movies today that are more experimental than this one which are not getting the same hype! Most of the scenes that got claps are copies from other movies, even the song in the background score with the movie title sounds like a rip from Kaminey!

Anyways, it is very difficult for someone like me who has seen way too many movies and remembers things to appreciate "imported" scenes in Tamil movies. If you have seen Angelina Jolie pull James McAvoy into a car as she spins it towards him, it is difficult to appreciate Arjun doing the same thing and clap.

Folks who have not seen "Wanted" will jump up and clap. Again, this post meanders into a movie critique. That was not the intent..

There is one song in this movie, which is a take off from a beer commercial where everything except the people builds itself (the walls, furniture , etc. ) in some kind of self assembly format. The focus is so much on the special effects that you miss the song, the actors and everything else.

Classic case of overdoing a special effect.. kind of like our wedding video!

Ajith multiples in much the same fashion I did in our wedding video! That leaves us to the inescapable conclusion...

Wedding videographers, keep practicing your special effects and one day you too can make it big in the movies!

Prayers

Little one after waking up : Daddy, you know something?

Me : What?

LO : Last night I came and huggied you and thaachamed (sleep) with you right ?

Me : Yes.

LO : You know, I was praying in my brain that you don't leave me and go to Yoga in the morning! and you came back just like I prayed..

Looks like there are forces at work beyond my control. This morning for reasons unknown, decided to go back to sleep when the alarm rang. So did MIL.

Guess someone's prayers got answered!

Lock the knee among other things...

This week was an up and down week thanks to the stomach bug. When you make an all out attempt to fight it, sometimes you take two steps forward and one step back.

Friday was again a wash, but with enough sleep and some determination got back to normal today.

We did go do our daily exercise and to add to it, we did some photographing / demos in the backyard to show the kids a few poses.

Toe Stand (Padangustasana)

Standing Bow pose (Dandayamana dhanurasana)

Eagle pose (Garudasana / Garurasana)

You have all seen my stomach from the past. Note that except for the little flabs on the bottom at the hip the rest of the fat is gone. Do see that most male teachers have this little flab just above the waistline even if they have a 6 pack abdomen. Maybe it is harder to get rid of or it is not a bad thing? Don't know. For now, not complaining because it is possible to "suck the belly in" when the teacher shouts "stomach, stomach, stomach, suck it in!" and the stomach actually reacts to the command from the brain!

Awkward pose (Utkatasana)

This is one challenging pose and again it was not easy to keep the hands straight. Then one of favorite morning teachers taught us to push the hands out and then bring them back to "lock the triceps"! Another new concept.. We used to wonder "How to lock it? What do they mean lock it?" We were going through the motion but the triceps were not "locking". It appears that for a lot of the instructions to kick in, certain parts of the body have to get to a minimum shape and certain muscles require a minimum strength. At least that is my personal experience.

The kids actually did the photographing this morning. Originally wanted to come back just after yoga and do this, but we decided to do this after breakfast and an hours break.

The little one has the intensity and the focus, but she is not a perfectionist. If anything, she is going to come to Yoga class with me when she grows up! That is for sure.

And now for "Lock the knee"..

>br clear="left">

Hope that helps those who are still learning how to lock the knee. A teacher confirmed that I am now doing it right!

Good luck to all those budding yogis out there..
