Staples

We are not talking about the store here.

Got a  bag of "mini" cucumbers from Costco this morning. As usual, the kids jumped on it and wanted to have a few before lunch break.

The little one took one bite and came back screaming.

There was a staple in the cucumber. It was neatly stapled into the surface of the baby cucumber. The funny thing is that the bag for the cucumber is not a stapled bag. It is a plastic bag that is heat sealed on all sides.

Will be letting costco know by phone. Just wanted to put this out there to other local costco shoppers.

Make sure you check the cucumbers before giving it to your kids.

A new found respect for Christian Bale

One of the perks of being married to an IBM'er in Silicon Valley is the twice a year or so special screening of blockbuster movies for employees and family.

San got us tickets to watch The Dark Knight Rises for a 9:30-Noon special screeing.

We stood in line from 8 to get nice seats and am still replaying some stuff from the movie in my head as this post is being typed.

What a movie! Beats every other movie that we have watched in the last two years hands down.

Christian Bale actually gives this character life. Saw that most reviews say he could have done better. His performance was as good as if not better than all the other heavyweights who make you feel something deep down in your bones. Seriously, it takes a lot of talent to hold your own with Oldman, Freeman and Caine.

Bale pulled it off in style.

We did not feel the time go by.True entertainment!

Hats off to Nolan.

Where "magic" happens

When we go to Disney, Magic always happens.

Irrespective of your age, be it 6 or 60,  7 1/2 or 75 the faces are lit up with a smile as some person in a costume comes along and hi fives you!

The next three are not good shots. Wish I could have gone to the parade a little earlier to position myself better to capture my parents and kids instead of staying too close to them. There is always the next trip where we can do that right..

Then of course there is the fireworks and a show that we have never seen in any of our past disney trips where they project directly on the castle while the fireworks goes on. Truly spectacular!

It was not an easy shot as I was carrying the little one on my left hip (she had dozed off as it was 10PM and she had literally walked miles that day) and the Canon 5D Mark ii which weighs at least 6 lbs with a 24-105 lens had to be hand held vertically on my right hand which is not yet as strong as it could be and it had to be held as steady as possible.

The projection lit up the castle and it helped. Truth be told there is more credit to the MK ii than to me for getting this shot with this kind of contrast and clarity.

Canon, I humbly bow before you!

This was our best Disney trip ever........ so far!

We are sure they will top this experience for us in another three years when we will visit for the little one's 10th birthday celebration.
