Birthday month, here we come..

The first grand bash of this month was done today!

The girls turn(ed) 9 and 6 on either side of this weekend!

The kids had a great time with all their friends and played in a Gym. They love this place so much that they want to keep having their birthday parties here year after year.

The best part of this birthday?

The kids have turned a major milestone this year. They have learned the art of emotional blackmail. They called their "Bombay Thatha" on the phone repeatedly and said "Grandpa, you have not been here for a single one of of our birthdays. Please come at least for this one".. etc. etc. This happened repeatedly over many weekends that Grandpa gave in and booked tickets for a short 3 week trip!

In other words, they have succeeded in making their puppy face technique work on another male member in the family. Needless to say, it always works on me.

Now we just have to wait for Daddy and Mommy to turn 29 and 29 in another two weeks!

November Joy

The weekend saw the girls have their "out of the house" birthday party with their friends at a gym where they got to swing on ropes, do cartwheels, etc. etc.

They were tired and hungry enough to devour pizza and cake..

Well, we head into the thanksgiving weekend in a couple of days...

That means two more birthdays!

Let's count the number of events in our immediate families..

My dad + My mom + me + my bro + my sis (me, sis, mom = Nov born, dad and moms wedding anniversary is November too)

FIL + MIL + San + SIL + BIL ( FIL, San are Nov born)

Both our kids are Nov born.

So that makes it 7 birthdays in November + a wedding anniversary!

Busy month, eh?!

A brownie.. a muffin.. what really matters is the candle!

The kids quiet birthday celebrations..

If only she was this happy more often. .

Maybe a monthly birthday celebration will help?

She still wants to blow the candle with her big sister.. (note, big sister was not allowed to blow candle on her brownie)

Another year has rolled by and kids are taller, smarter, have less teeth, have lower opinions of their parents.. etc. etc.. the routine goes on.

We are glad that they love each other and care for each other the way they do. What more can you ask for?

Happy 29-n-th birthday

Wishing Sangeetha a happy twentyninenth birthday!

The love of my life, who does a diving catch time and time again, to save this idiot from self destruction.

We are still getting over Thatha and the birthday plans are all canceled, but Surprise!

You didn't know I had these pictures of you, did you?

For my part, I will stop depressing the kids. For their part, they will surprise you by eating their breakfast on time (they have promised)

Happy birthday,

Your dear hormonal hubby!

ps. These photos were taken 29+ years ago..

The bottom drops to an all time low...

Today when I picked up Jr. from school, she had a certificate.

It said something to the effect of "Congratulations on your birthday, etc. etc." and looked like a formal certificate with lots of colors on it!

Jr. said "are you proud of me, I earned that certificate"

Me: What do you mean "you earned it". You just had another birthday. You didn't work for it!

Jr. : Lived to be a year older, didn't I? (and makes a "duh" face, if you know what I mean)

Me : you lived to be a year older because your mom and me are still spoon feeding you, your breakfast and dinner and stuffing your leftover lunch in your mouth in the evening. If anything we should get the certificate.

Jr. : You are not fair. You are saying that because I got a certificate and I really earned it.

Me : !!!!!!!!!!!

Can understand people in gang infested neighborhoods feeling a sense of achievement for having lived longer and survived. But why would a seven year old living in a nice house with parents who spend 30 minutes a day with morning cereal and going to a nice school feel she earned a "birthday" certificate?

Beats me!
