Transformation

Warning to relatives and friends who have not been in touch for the last 15 or so years ...

Due to the shocking nature of the photographs (shocking to you that is) with reference to this post, please ask your kids/someone else who has never seen me, to see the photos and give you a description so you are mentally prepared!

In case you did not understand the magnitude or seriousness of Mr. Punjaab Power transforming into Jodi No. 1, it was very much real..

It was not easy to dig them out (and the computer inept me had to wait for San to help fix the scanner) and there was permissions to be obtained..

So I shut up and give you these photos.

First some exhibit A's of Mr. Punjab power or Banaras power as we would like to call it..

Bachcha from BHU

Please notice arumbu moustache!

A few years + hair gel + bow tie + spangles + tight pants + some attitude later, being interviewed on local TV at a dance competition.

This picture was taken in UK at an international dance competition.

Six pack Sundar...You have to believe me, I had a stomach like a wolf after all that dancing!

A photo of me dancing with my teacher, one amazing teacher! If they give our Ph.D's for dancing, she would probably have a dozen...

There you have it. From a "jolna" bag carrying moustached kid to a "hep soniya" and back to a diaper bag carrying dad, life goes full circle!

The wolf has now turned into a hog!

You are a dancer? Dancer!!!
That's amazing! I went for 10 dancing classes with my husband and loved it ...but we didn't get time to pursue it further.
Besides, I think I automatically started leading :) so husband is not into it anymore :D

Sundar-

Totally impressed w/ the pics. Thought, I've heard stories of your dancing days, until these pics. were posted, had no idea of your skills. You should go back full-time.

Seems like an unusual story
of a proper iyer aathu payyan
going into something exotic
like ball room dancing!
I am sure there is a story to
tell behind this transformation..
we are all ears!!! Please humour
us :-)

Are you still in touch with the hunk next to you in the first pic?

December 18, 2008 | Unregistered Commenteranjali

okay all

1. thanks for the nice words
2. there is no plan to dance again
3. cannot fit into the old dance costumes with the current sizes
4. also dont understand why it is wrong for a Tamizh boy or a Brahmin boy or both to pick up ballroom dancing..

god knows how many Tambrams are out there who have no idea what they are good at or capable of!

:)

Anjali, now I am really curious..

are you Mrs. RM? I have met RM's wife twice (once at Shankars place and once at Bhavikas, ages ago!)

but the name is vaguely familiar!

:)

Wow! wow! wow!
What to write seriously have you ever thought about selling your autobiography to Karan Johar or to some producer in India. Dude you are a star ... No Super Star.

What changes, what climax, what romance, what seriousness and Phd to just plain pachadi you have got it all.

Hats off or in this case .... Your shiny shirt off :-) Seriously consider Bollywood you have got it Dude. Big time.
